Excellence in
English (Primary)

Excellence in English equips our lower primary students with the skills and confidence to read, write, and speak well. They will develop strong foundations in grammar, vocabulary, and writing, through class activities that promote active and frequent reading. Through this, we illustrate to our students that language skills are applicable in real-world settings beyond the classroom.

As they transition to middle primary, students will be prepared for the transition to examinations and weighted assessment. To this end, we ensure a smooth transition by incorporating some of these elements at the end of Primary 2, where students gain their first exposure to Primary 3 examination components. In the middle primary years, students will continue enhancing their language foundations, while picking up specific tried-and-tested skills for both Paper 1 and 2 for exam excellence.

Upon entering upper primary, students focus on the mastery of the linguistic skills students have learnt. This provides them with an added edge and confidence to meet the demands of the PSLE. In addition, students will be equipped with key skills and techniques that will empower them with the confidence to handle their exams. These skills will continue to serve our students well, long after the conclusion of their milestone examinations.
