Excellence in Writing
The Excellence in Writing programme is specially designed to achieve writing mastery. With a strong emphasis on creative writing techniques and literacy skills, students will be taught how to enhance their narrative writing through a variety of strategies. Students will gradually be introduced to newer and more challenging techniques as they progress from Primary 3 to Primary 6. These include the use of suspense-building, foreshadowing, similes and metaphors, and characterisation, among others.
As students advance to upper primary, they will also be trained in situational writing where they learn to write different text types, including emails, letters, and reports.
By the time students sit for the PSLE, they will be all-rounded, confident writers with linguistic mastery who can skilfully apply the various writing techniques they have learned.
